Topic: Dealing with grief in a world of denial
 

Rev. Paul Arnott is a fourth generation Tasmanian, who has been the State Director of the Church Missionary Society in Victoria for ten years.  Married, with three daughters, he served for 15 years in Anglican ordained ministry in five parishes in the Diocese of Tasmania, as well as being Director of Anglican Media and Communications and Anglican chaplain to the University of Tasmania in Hobart. Prior to ordination Paul worked for the ABC as a radio current affairs interviewer and producer.  Following the death of his only son in 1987 he wrote a guide for bereaved parents called No Time To Say Goodbye. Paul has run a number of workshops on grief and loss and spoken at a range of conferences, including the national conference of the Australian Homebirth Association. His second book, Live The Moment, seeks to help readers to live more fully in the present moment.  Paul is the chair of the Christian publishing company, Acorn Press, which published Jill McGilvray’s book, God’s Love In Action. He is passionate about biblical mission and seeing Christians use their gifts to extend the kingdom of God.

Topic: When the dots connect... head and heart matters
 

Rev. Morris Key is the Senior Presbyterian Chaplain and the Centre Director for Pastoral Education at Westmead Hospital. He is also the President of the NSW College of Clinical Pastoral Education.  Morris has been a chaplain for over 20 years and a CPE Supervisor for 17 years. He taught Pastoral Skills and Methods at the Robert Menzies School of Christian studies for 10 years, resigning when his dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. He is married to Florianna and has two children, Samantha Grace (21) and Jonathan James (19). Apart for a love for Premiership English Football (round ball version) he also is involved in researching and designing programs suitable for medical students to learn about spiritual assessment.

Dr Susan Selby

Topic: New every morning: Integrating current developments in grief theory and practice with Jesus' compassion and teaching
 

Susan Selby is a follower of Jesus who also happens to be an Australian GP and medical educator with an interest in mental health. She became involved in missionary member care in 2000 as the state medical registrar for the Church Missionary Society which led her to undertake a PhD through The University of Adelaide into missionaries’ psychological distress on re-entry, particularly their loss and grief issues. She has served with her husband, Derrick, with International Nepal Fellowship on short term medical camps in Nepal over the past 6 years and they will be heading to Africa with Serving in Mission in late 2012. Bushwalking in the Adelaide Hills is a favourite past time.
