Learning Outcomes
1. To develop your understanding of the theology and dynamics of leadership, challenging you to a commitment to excellence;
2. To promote the process of personal development, assisting you to become facilitators in the leadership development of others;
3. To equip you with the ability to manage congregations and other Christian organisations.

Content
A study of leadership in Christian ministries in the light of biblical, theological and management perspectives.

Section A Theoretical Study (70%)
1. Biblical models and principles of leadership and management
2. Developing clearly stated purposes, well-conceived goals, detailed plans. Methods of evaluation; feedback
3. Management styles and theories; appropriate leadership for different situations and people; motivation
4. Principles of organisation; time management & decision making; using dictation
5. Financial management: Christian principles in using money; understanding accounts; budgeting.

Section B Field Work (30%)
6. Each of you are required to spend at least 8 hours under the guidance of a Christian in a significant management position, to observe and reflect upon the principles and processes of management as you see them in operation.
7. Each of you are also required to undertake a personal evaluation, under supervision, of your own strengths and weaknesses in leadership. The result of this evaluation is to be presented to your supervisor; it may be in written or oral form.
