Oasis 2010 Conference


On the last weekend in June, 350 Christian women traded the routine of a wintery Sydney weekend for a weekend oasis by the beach at Collaroy. It may seem strange that they headed to this beachside location in the middle of winter, but they were not after sun and surf. They were seeking to be refreshed and renewed physically, mentally and spiritually at the annual Mary Andrew's College Conference.



At Mary Andrews College we understand that women in all seasons of life are in need of a break from the day to day routine of life - at least once a year. With this in mind we have renamed our annual conference - oasis. The weekend has also been restructured to allow women great flexibility in how they use their time. The main teaching sessions by Robyn Claydon, Jenni Stoddart and Alison Napier on Saturday were at the beginning and end of the day. In between these times women had the choice to:

  • attend 1 or 2 workshops
  • take a picnic lunch to the beach
  • enjoy a long chat over coffee with old and new friends
  • browse the onsite bookstall
  • or have an afternoon sleep
