Create and Refresh Weekends 2017
You are invited to our very popular Create and Refresh weekends at The Hermitage in Mittagong. These weekends are designed to give women the opportunity to slow down in a beautiful, peaceful setting in the Southern Highlands - to reflect on God's word, enjoy peace and tranquillity and have an opportunity to be renewed and refreshed physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The weekend gives you plenty of opportunity to reflect on God’s word, together with free time to enjoy walks, being creative, sleeping, games or whatever you would like to bring that you find relaxing or simply read and chat with the other women on the weekend.
Each weekend is limited to 30 women and all the rooms are single rooms with ensuite bathrooms.

About the Weekends:
So many of us find it hard to carve out an extended time with God – or the very thought of doing that might even scare us a little! This weekend is designed to give you some practical tips and creative ideas about how to sit with your heavenly Father, and to provide a little bit of structure for those who need it to help you pray. It is also very special to do it alongside other women who have set aside the weekend to focus on spending time with God.
Growing Through Stress:
Some people think stress is an enemy to be avoided or that if you are stressed you are inadequate or ‘unspiritual’. However, stress is really a ‘God-given response designed to equip us for living successfully in a tough world.’ Gillian Davis will be leading this weekend and looking at this theme from a biblical and practical perspective with loads of humour thrown in. There will of course be lots of opportunity to de-stress over the weekend. Gillian draws on ministry, marriage and hyper children for her experience.
Refreshment for the Journey:
Life certainly has its challenges and difficulties. Sometimes we need to stop and find refreshment from God’s Word and God’s creation and God’s people. This is the perfect weekend for exactly that.
About the Leaders:Di Morgan
Loves to provide people the space and the supportive structure to enable people to spend time ‘sitting at the feet of Jesus’. As she often says to her students, “We get so busy with Kingdom activity that we struggle to spend time with the King. Jesus says, Come! Rest! Listen.” Di joined the Mary Andrews College faculty after 20 years on the ministry team of St Barnabas' Broadway. She recently completed courses in Coaching and in Pastoral Supervision. She currently lectures in Pastoral Care and Personal Life of the Christian.Gillian Davis
Gill along with husband Brett founded Christian Surfers International – a mission to the world surfing community – and continues to serve the organisation as a board member and mentor. Gill loves to talk, and can be found in any given week teaching in churches and communities about living an authentic faith within the sub cultures people find themselves in. She is passionate about the power of Jesus to transform lives, and about translating the gospel in the language and culture of each generation. This explains why Gill has worked in religious education teaching and consulting for 15 years. Gill is a summer surfer when Brett tows her out, but mostly loves watching big swell from the safety of the headland with a flat white in one hand, and no I-phone in the other. Gill and Brett live in the coastal village of Coledale and are parents to 3 delightful adult children.
Jackie heads up Mary Andrews College and has been on the faculty for over 20 years. Prior to that Jackie worked in Parish Ministry as an assistant minister. Jackie is passionate about people experiencing their full potential in Jesus as they are grounded in His love and Word. Jackie attends Sadleir Anglican Church.

"Thank you for giving us this opportunity to take a break from business, routine, struggles of life and recalibrate our lives. The style of teaching was great. I felt encouraged. The passages chosen were great for this weekend giving us permission to pull back and look after physical, spiritual and emotional aspects. The opportunity to meet with so many wonderful, honest and caring women and share the love of Jesus and the journey of life was immeasurably valuable. I feel better able to go back to life and church renewed remembering that although there are hard times the best is yet to come and this weekend I think was a little foretaste of heaven. Thank you. Wendy"
