Diploma Of Christian Studies

The Diploma of Christian Studies requires the completion of eight units (i.e. 32 credit points). Each unit is worth four credit points (cps).

The Diploma of Christian Studies requires the successful completion of one year of full-time study or the equivalent part time. There is no maximum time in which to complete the course.

Full-time study is considered to be four units per semester. No students may enrol in more than five units in any one semester.

Diploma of Christian Studies

The Diploma of Christian Studies requires the following units:

  • one unit from either Old Testament (OT), New Testament (NT) or Biblical Studies (BB).
  • one unit from either Church History (CH), Theology (TH) or Philosophy & Ethics (PE).
  • one unit from either Old Testament (OT), New Testament (NT), Biblical Studies (BB), Church History (CH), Theology (TH) or Philosophy & Ethics (PE)
  • two units from either Pastoral & Church Focussed Ministries (PC), Evangelism and Missiology (EM) or Developmental Ministry (DM)

and the following elective units:

  • three units from any unit field

Diploma of Theology

The Diploma of Theology requires the completion of 12 units (i.e. 48 credit points). Each unit is worth four credit points (cps).

The Diploma of Theology requires the successful completion of 1.5 years of full-time study or the equivalent part time. There is no maximum time in which to complete the course.

Full-time study is considered to be four units per semester. No students may enrol in more than five units in any one semester.

Diploma of Theology
(Pathway 1)

The Diploma of Theology (Pathway 1) requires the following core units:

  • Old Testament (OT): OT240
    (or both OT201 and OT202)
  • New Testament (NT): NT240
    (or both NT201 and NT202)
  • Church History (CH): one of
    CH201, CH202, CH205-CH209
  • Theology (TH): either TH210 or TH211

and the following elective units:

  • Old Testament exegesis (OT):
    one unit
  • New Testament exegesis (NT):
    one unit
  • Theology (TH):
    one more unit
  • Church History (CH):
    one more unit
  • Electives: minimum of two more units, including a maximum of two type-B units (if offered)

Total = 12 units

Combined Diploma of Theology / Ministry

The combined Diploma of Theology / Diploma of Ministry requires the completion of 16 units (i.e. 64 credit points). Each unit is worth four credit points (cps).

The combined Diploma of Theology / Diploma of Ministry requires the successful completion of two years of full-time study or the equivalent part time. There is no maximum time in which to complete the course.

Full-time study is considered to be four units per semester. No students may enrol in more than five units in any one semester.

Combined Diploma of Theology / Diploma of Ministry

This course requires the following core units:

    (or both OT201 and OT202)
  • New Testament (NT): NT240

The Advanced Diploma of Theology requires the completion of 16 units (i.e. 48 credit points), of which four units must be completed at degree (300-400) level. Each unit is worth four credit points (cps).

The Advanced Diploma of Ministry requires the successful completion of two years of full-time study or the equivalent part time. There is no maximum time in which to complete the course.

Full-time study is considered to be four units per semester. No students may enrol in more than five units in any one semester.

Mary Andrews College has chosen not to offer any degree (300-400) level units at the moment. Please note that note that, if required, there are other ACT-affiliated colleges which do offer degree (300-400) level units.

The combined Advanced Diploma of Theology / Advanced Diploma of Ministry requires the completion of 24 units (i.e. 96 credit points), of which six units must be completed at degree (300-400) level.  Each unit is worth four credit points (cps).

The combined Advanced Diploma of Theology / Advanced Diploma of Ministry requires the successful completion of three years of full-time study or the equivalent part time. There is no maximum time in which to complete the course.

Full-time study is considered to be four units per semester. No students may enrol in more than five units in any one semester.
