Colossians 1:28 “He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”
At MAC, we recognise that choosing to study at Bible college is an important decision. We hope that as you are prayerfully considering taking this step, our website will help to answer questions you might have about how study will fit into your life and how it can help equip you for the future.
For over 130 years, MAC has been training women in the Bible to equip them for ministry roles in the church, the community and the world. We are committed to excellence in teaching, learning, as well as in rigorous scholarship, seeing our students grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible while at the same time growing in practical ministry skills for service to God and His people. We are dedicated to seeing our students grow not just in knowledge but also in Christlikeness. This happens both in the formal setting of education in the classroom but also as we meet together informally on campus and online.
MAC is unique in Australia with our specialisation in pastoral care, mental health and disability. However, to be equipped in practical ministry skills in these areas, we believe our students must first have a firm foundation in God’s word. For this reason, we encourage all our certificate, diploma and advanced diploma students to commence their studies with us in foundational subjects like overviews in Old Testament, New Testament and an introductory theology subject.
As a college with a focus on women, we understand the challenges faced by women in ministry and in completing theological training. We try and make our studies at MAC as flexible as possible with most students studying only one or two units (subjects) per semester. We understand the demands of juggling study with family and ministry responsibilities. In coming to MAC, you will find yourself among students who understand these competing demands on time.
Now with the option of studying at MAC online, there is more opportunity than ever to commence theological study with us. Studying God’s word happens best in community so at MAC we place a strong value on meeting together for live classes rather than simply watching pre-recorded lectures. All our online classes are run synchronously in hybrid mode which means students online and on-campus join together in live classes at the same time. This allows online students the same access to their lecturer and their peers as they would have on-campus. Live classes mean you can still participate in small group discussions with your peers, ask questions when you need to, and grow together in God’s word as part of the MAC community.
Whether your aim is to move into paid or unpaid ministry work, or whether you wish to grow in your knowledge and ability to apply the scriptures in your daily walk with God, we can help you decide on a pathway of study that is suitable for you.
