Thank you, Jan Corbett-Jones!
Many students have benefited from Jan Corbett-Jones teaching in Practical Pastoral Care and Understanding Grief over the past several years. Jan has decided it’s time to step down from lecturing at MAC. Jan was a student at MAC herself and was one of our early graduates (1997). Jan has since played an important role in training people for Pastoral Care not only through MAC, but also Moore College and Anglicare. Though we’ll miss her, we thank God for her faculty work and wish her well as she continues to serve the Lord in other ways.
What an amazing College is Mary Andrews! At a time in my life, many years ago now, when I was praying that the Lord would restore to me the joy of His salvation, I was led to start studying at MAC. I was working as a Nurse Educator part time at that time so could only study on Mondays! God graciously restored His joy to me and MAC was certainly part of that.
To my amazement, not long after graduation, God led me into ministry in middle age!! What joy and not possible without studying at MAC!
Years later following my MA [Chaplaincy] and towards the end of my time with Anglicare Chaplaincy, Jackie asks me to lecture at Mary Andrew College and although this fitted well with my teaching of Chaplains,. I was stunned! Protesting that it sounded great but I couldn’t possibly mark assignments, Jackie had the perfect answer! She would mark the assignments! I think this barely lasted one semester before I was doing the lot and loving it.
What an amazing privilege to be in a Christian College, working alongside inspirational, faithful lectures and support staff and journeying with women so eager to learn more about our wonderful God and how to serve Him more effectively. Who wouldn’t want to be part of that!.
I give all the praise and thanks to our great God for all His blessings, new every morning. Thank you Lord God for Mary Andrew College.
