Narelle Jarrett Bursaries

A small number of bursaries are available for women who wish to study the MAC Certificate in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Care course yet are hindered by their financial situation.

For each Certificate unit, the bursary will contribute 75% of the fees ($325 in 2024); the student will contribute the remaining $100. Bursary holders must intend to do the course for credit. This means attending classes (either in person or online) and attempting all assessments. See the timetable on the website for what is being offered in 2024.

Applicants need to be involved in formal or informal ministry at their church and will need to write a short paragraph to demonstrate how financial assistance would make study possible.

2024 applications closed on 15th January, 2024.

2025 applications opening date to be advised later.

Diploma and Graduate Certificate units

A FEE-HELP loan scheme is available from the government for eligible Australian citizens to cover the tuition fees for ACT Diploma or Advanced Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Care for Mental Health courses. Completion of the entire course is expected, and repayment of the FEE-HELP loan and loan fee is based on personal taxable income. There is no loan fee on graduate courses. Please read carefully the information on the FEE-HELP website below.

If a student is eligible, this would cover the cost of their fees entirely.

FEE-HELP cannot be used for single unit study.

If you would like to apply for a FEE-HELP loan, you can indicate this during the online enrolment process.

  • Eligible students can apply for a government FEE-HELP funding loan by filling out an Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF). New students enrolling in relevant diploma courses and current students changing courses need to complete a new eCAF.

  • The FEE-HELP application form is completed via the Department of Education’s online portal. Eligible students will receive an email from the Department of Education and Training with instructions on how to log in and fill out the eCAF for your course on the government’s ePortal.

  • You will need your ACT student number and tax file number (TFN) on hand before attempting to complete your eCAF online.

  • For more information about how this eCAF application is submitted (including step by step screen shots), click here.

For more information about FEE-HELP loans, about the 20% loan fee (undergraduate students only) and how to repay the loan, go to www.studyassist.gov.au.
