Which course is right for me?
Mary Andrews College offers 10 accredited, Australian University of Theology (AUT) courses, as well as our non accredited Mary Andrews College Certificate in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Care.
The College integrates Biblical teaching with practice to shape how women love, lead, and live. If you are looking to grow in your knowledge and ability to live out the gospel in your daily life with God in the service of others, study at Mary Andrews College is for you.
Some students choose to undertake individual units of study with or without assessment (audit) for their own personal or professional development if they do not require a full course.
Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Undergraduate Certificate level study develops foundational level knowledge and skills in the Bible, theology, discipleship and pastoral care. This level of study is suitable for women who wish to gain a deeper understanding of how the Bible shapes ministry practice in the local church and wider community.
Graduate level study is suitable for students with a previous bachelor’s degree. Graduate courses develop advanced level knowledge and skills for ministry workers, or Christian professionals working in healthcare, education or industry.
The Mary Andrews College Certificate is designed for women from all walks of life seeking to develop their knowledge of the Bible and practical pastoral care skills.

The Diploma of Ministry involves an expected maximum of 11 units (96cps).

The Advanced Diploma of Ministry introduces students to the sources and content of the Christian story and message, and provides training which emphasises application and practice of this story and message in the contemporary world at a higher level than the Diploma of Ministry.
1.5 years full time, or a maximum of years part time (144 credit points)
The Advanced Diploma of Ministry involves an expected maximum of 16 units (144cps).
Units in this course are completed at AQF Level 5 and above, including 48 credit points at AQF Level 6 or above.

The Graduate Certificate of Divinity is a general purposes award to provide students who are already graduates with an opportunity to undertake study at an advanced level of selected units in the teaching departments of Bible and Languages, Christian Thought and History, and Ministry and Practice.
Course structure:
A maximum of 2 years part time (48 credit points)
This course comprises a total of 4 units (48 credit points). Units in this course are completed at AQF Level 8 and above.
Primary Course Discipline Units:
48 credit points from any units at Level 8 or above
Time Commitment:
Each unit requires 150 demand hours. This includes 36 hours of class time, plus additional time for completing required readings as well as researching for and writing your assignments.
Admission Requirements:
This is a course of the Australian University of Theology.
Academic qualifications:
Completed 3 year bachelor degree or equivalent
Alternative admission to the Graduate Certificate of Divinity or the Graduate Certificate of Pastoral Care for Mental Health on individual application to the AUT Registrar including 5 years’ ministry or relevant industry experience (paid or unpaid); and written support of a referee who holds a relevant Masters degree from the ACT or equivalent; and successful completion of a previous qualification at AQF Level 5 or above; and being at least 25 years of age. Requirements for demonstration of academic suitability is determined at the discretion of the AUT Registrar, who will only admit applicants on a case by case basis who in the ACT Registrar’s belief are likely to be successful in AQF Level 8 units.
The principles considered in assessing an application under this clause include:accommodating student diversity by including the under-representation and/or disadvantage experienced by identified groups and creating equivalent opportunities for academic success regardless of students’ backgrounds; and
specific consideration for the recruitment, admission, participation and completion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; and
ensuring that admitted students have the academic preparation needed to participate in their intended study, and no known limitations that would be expected to impede their progression and completion.
Language Qualifications for Non English Speaking Background (NESB) Students: IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum of 7.0 in reading and writing, and 6.5 in listening and speaking OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work.

The Graduate Certificate of Pastoral Care for Mental Health offers specialised training in pastoral responses to mental health and wellbeing with a focus on preventative and reactive strategies.
It is designed to be a professional development course for men and women who work in ministry, professional health care workers, and Christians working in schools. The course also aims to equip students with a rigorous theological framework for mental health and wellbeing that is biblically grounded.
Course structure:
A maximum of 2 years part time (48 credit points)
This course comprises a total of 4 units (48 credit points). Units in this course are completed at AQF Level 8 and above.

This is the perfect course for those who aren’t seeking accredited qualification but want to develop their Christian understanding and pastoral care. All units seek to integrate what is taught with how we live as followers of Jesus Christ and how we care for others.
The core units give an introduction to 4 areas of study:• Old Testament (COT)
• New Testament (CNT)
• Christian Theology (CTC)
• Pastoral Care (CPC)
Upto two different units will be offered each semester.For the MAC Certificate, 2 additional elective units can be undertaken to complete an Advanced Certificate in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Care.
