A Christmas message from Principal,
Dr Laurel Moffatt

Dear friends,

As the year draws to a close, I’m reminded by the season of Advent to wait with expectant hope on the Lord while Christmas invites us to rejoice in his arrival. The birth of Jesus Christ, our Immanuel, God with us, marks his humble entry into our world so that, through His life, death, and resurrection, we might receive the gift of eternal life. This wonderful news shapes everything we do at Mary Andrews College.

Over the past two years, I’ve heard from a number of women who are curious about theology yet unsure whether it’s ‘for them’. My conviction, and the College’s commitment, is that theology is for all of God’s people. We all have ‘words about God’; our shared task is to ensure those words are good and right, reflecting His character and guiding us into wise, joyful obedience. Studying in community (asking questions, wrestling with difficult concepts, and encouraging one another) helps us do just that.

At Mary Andrews College, we believe good theology is robust in truth, relevant to daily life, and accessible to every Christian person. Whether you’re new to formal study or returning after many years, our heart is to help you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, to think deeply and live faithfully. We want your learning to strengthen your confidence in God’s Word and nurture a life of wholehearted love for Him, one that engages your mind, heart, soul, and strength.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus who came to seek and save us, we also look ahead with hope. In the year to come, we’ll continue to offer pathways for learning that meet you where you are and help you integrate biblical truth into everyday life - at home, church, work, and in the wider community. If you’ve been wondering whether theological study could be your next step, we would love to start a conversation with you.

May the peace of Christ guard your hearts, and may his Word lead you into the new year and fill you with steadfast hope in him.

In Christ,
